Casinos offer full-service wedding packages

Most Northern Nevada casinos operate like a well-oiled machine, so it’s no surprise that casino weddings can be carefully orchestrated affairs.

One-stop wedding shopping

These days, casinos are self-contained entertainment meccas with a full range of wedding services.

Several local casinos offer a full range of wedding services, including photography, floral arrangements, transportation, lodging and reception services. In addition, they offer full wedding coordination staffs to help plan the perfect wedding.

“The couple and their guests can check into the hotel, have everything taken care of for them and just enjoy the event,” said Tonya Simmons, wedding manager for the Peppermill Resort Casino.

“Every service can be provided without leaving the property, including rehearsal dinner, salon services, wedding, reception, after-reception entertainment in the casino and 15 bars, and next-day events,” she said.

Array of choices

The Cal Neva Lodge and Casino in Crystal Bay offers a choice of four ceremony venues, including an outdoor gazebo overlooking breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. How about a hip Brat Pack-themed wedding reception? As the former stomping ground for Frank Sinatra and the Brat Pack, the Cal Neva offers several places to have your reception, including the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Showroom, which can hold up to 250 guests.

The Peppermill has three ceremony locations. Two wedding chapels recently opened, and the Skyline chapel on the 17th floor boasts panoramic valley views. An outdoor wedding gazebo adjacent to the new resort pool is scheduled to open later this summer.

Reception options at the Peppermill run the gamut from intimate suite affairs to a grand gala in one of the casino’s three ballrooms.

Package deals

Casino wedding packages range from simple to lavish, and most offer wedding coordination as part of the package.

Both the Cal Neva and the Peppermill offer basic wedding packages. The Peppermill offers the Chardonnay package for $900, which includes the chapel, ceremony music, minister, bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonnière. The Cal Neva offers personalized quotes depending on budget and individual needs.

Simmons said the Peppermill packages can include photography, video, additional flowers, accommodations, champagne, spa services and transportation.

“Our ultimate ceremony package is the Mi Amor. It includes everything except the groom!” she said.

With all the components of a wedding in one place, a variety of choices and comprehensive package deals, today’s casino weddings are a sure bet.
