An (indoor) adventure honeymoon

You’ve heard the hype about adventure honeymoons — traveling thousands of miles, climbing mountains, rafting rivers, hiking the outback. While that all sounds quite exciting, to you it doesn’t exactly sound romantic. What if your idea of romance is holing up in a beautiful hotel room, sipping champagne and soaking in a private whirlpool spa? Besides, it’s cold outside.

Sounds like you’re more suited to an indoor adventure honeymoon. Imagine a place where you can frolic in a waterfall-fed lagoon, swim laps or ride in a ’57 Chevy, all in the comfort of a private hotel room. Impossible? Not really. Indulge these and other romantic fantasies at one of these Reno/Tahoe properties.

The Fantasy Inn (South Shore Lake Tahoe). Just blocks from the Ski Run Marina (home of the Tahoe Queen paddle-wheeler), the Fantasy Inn courts honeymooners with fun themed rooms. Spend a few days in a tropical rain forest, on a desert oasis, or in the Wild West. Play Romeo and Juliet, Anthony and Cleopatra or Tarzan and Jane.

Each room includes an oversized in-room whirlpool spa for two (some heart-shaped); a European shower for two adjacent to spa with “His” and “Her” shower heads; a basket of lotion, bubble bath and shampoo. There also are special effects romantic mood lighting and interesting mirror treatments; Pay Per View movies; a DMX stereo system and a king-sized bed on lighted pedestal.

The Adventure Inn (Reno). The Adventure Inn takes themed rooms to a whole new level with its new super-suites. The Super Space Suite, for example, not only has a great space theme, but also an 18-foot lap pool, plus a state-of-the-art spa and sauna. Or climb aboard a pirate’s galleon and walk the plank into your spa-for-two. Other choices include the Garden of Eden, complete with that certain tree; the Ocean Suite with a 10-foot lagoon and waterfall; and the ‘50s suite, with a queen-sized bed in a ’57 Chevy, complete with car phone and Golden Oldies, playing on the stereo.

The Adventure Inn’s guest representatives are happy to complete your fantasy with fresh flowers, wine, snacks and even lingerie to surprise your new spouse.
